The basis for good sustainable decisions
GEONOME represents the natural and cultural foundational aspects of urban environments, akin to a city's ecological and historical DNA. By focusing on the current state of the city, the architectural heritage and geological elements that form the basis of any dwelling, GEONOME ensures that urban areas are developed sustainably and resiliently. When cities are built in harmony with their GEONOME, they are better equipped to handle environmental changes and support long-term human habitation.
Our goal is to uncover the foundational elements of a place to guide redevelopment or new development efforts. By understanding a location's GEONOME, we align human interventions with the ecological and geological characteristics essential for a sustainable and prosperous future. We aim to assist cities in reusing and reshaping their infrastructure in harmony with their GEONOME. Our approach adheres to the sustainable principles outlined in the Brundtland Report of 1987 and the Copenhagen Lessons of UIA 2023.
Together, we can redevelop urban areas that respect their natural foundations, creating resilient, sustainable, and profitable environments for future generations.
